A brief history of quantum information, from completeness to nanotechnology
We’ll follow the scientific path leading to the conception of the quantum computer and the attempts to build it by discussing how quantum physics can change perspectives in computer science and vice-versa. What’s calculation and computing, why building a computer, how a quantum computer is different from a classical one are examples of topics we’ll discuss, trying to put together historical, human and scientific aspects of knowledge and technologies.
