Magnetic nanoparticles: from chemical synthesis to applications

one. Indeed, different configurations, multidomain/vortex/monodomain, as long as different behaviour, superparamagnetism/ferromagnetism can be encountered within a small size range. Controlling the size, the shape and the composition of nanoparticles is then crucial to tune the magnetic properties and thus open the way for a large variety of applications.
After a brief introduction on the chemical synthesis of magnetic nanoparticles and how one could tune the properties, I will present their use as localized heaters in magnetic hyperthermia, with application in nanomedicine or catalysis ; or as building blocks for integrated magnetic materials and their use for the actuation of nomadic devices.
